Naval security forces responded to reports of an active shooter at approximately 06:15 (local time) on Thursday, May 21, at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi (Texas state). The suspected shooter was shot and killed after wounding at least one security forces member. The base remains in lockdown status as of 09:15 on Thursday to allow emergency responders access to the scene.


Individuals in Corpus Christi are advised to avoid the area and adhere to instructions issued by the local authorities.
