A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane, flight PK-8303, crashed in Model Colony (Karachi) on approach to Jinnah International Airport (KHI) at approximately 14:45 (local time) on Friday, May 22. At least 17 people were killed in the accident, and dozens remain trapped in the rubble. According to PIA, the aircraft is an Airbus 320 carrying 91 passengers and eight crew on board and originated in Lahore. Rescue teams have been dispatched to the location. The death toll is expected to rise significantly.

A heightened emergency presence is anticipated near the crash site and localized traffic disruptions are possible in the area.
