Police in Cap Skirring (Ziguinchor region) clashed with demonstrators during a protest over water shortage on Saturday, May 30. Police utilized tear gas to disperse the crowd after demonstrators threw projectiles, and set several buildings on fire. At least two people were injured in the clashes, and several others were arrested.

Further protests are possible in the coming days. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.
