Landslides and flooding have impacted Gandaki Pradesh province on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14, with reports of roads, bridges, and houses being damaged. Notably, nine people were killed in Kushma Municipality-3 in Prabat district when a landslide triggered by heavy rains swept away at least three houses.

Additional landslides and flooding are likely in the coming days.


Flooding and landslides are common in Nepal during the monsoon season, which typically spans from June until August.


Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate transportation disruptions, avoid areas directly affected by flooding, confirm road conditions before setting out, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
