On Monday, June 15, authorities issued red weather warnings for rain, flooding, and landslides, for large areas of southern Japan, including Kagoshima, Kyushu, and Amami regions. The rain is expected to continue until Tuesday, June 16, with the Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) warning that, should cumulonimbus clouds develop, individuals should remain indoors to ensure their safety. Further rainfall is to be expected in the near-term.
