Large fire reportedly destroys dozens of shops in Akure (Ondo state) on June 15: avoid the area

According to local sources, a large fire broke out in the Obanla area of Akure (Ondo state) early in the morning (local time) on Monday, June 15. The fire reportedly began at a gas station and has destroyed at least five houses and 24 shops in the vicinity.

The State Fire Service has been dispatched to the scene and traffic disruptions are to be expected. No injuries have yet been reported.  


Individuals in the Obanla area of Akure are advised to avoid the area of the fire and obey all instructions issued by local authorities.
