At least two people have been injured following the blast of a magnetically attached improvised explosive device (MAIED) near Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA), located in Kabul's PD10, on Tuesday, June 16. The MAIED was reportedly detonated near the HKIA circle and was attached to a vehicle belonging to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF). Security forces are reported to be responding to the incident. 

A heightened security presence and localized disruptions are expected in the area over the coming hours.


Individuals in Kabul are advised to avoid the affected area, remain vigilant for militant activity, including for any secondary devices, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.
