The detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED) killed four laborers in Silopi district (Şırnak province) on Wednesday, June 17. The blast reportedly struck a vehicle in the vicinity of a construction site between Görümlü and Mount Judi. Local authorities have attributed the attack to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

A heightened security presence is anticipated in the area in the near term.
