A grenade attack killed at least one person and wounded six others in the Liaquatabad Town area of Karachi on Friday, June 19. Reports suggest that the attack targeted a Pakistan Rangers vehicle in the vicinity of the Ehsaas Programme center. Security forces have cordoned off the area as investigations continue. The Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack on social media, in addition to an earlier attack in Ghotki (Sindh province) on Friday morning which killed at least three people, including members of the Sindh Rangers.
A heightened security presence and disruptions to overland travel are to be expected in the area in the near term.
Individuals in Ghotki district are advised to avoid the affected area, remain vigilant, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.
