Singapore's elections department (ELD) announced on Tuesday, June 23, that the 2020 general election will be held on July 10, following president Halimah Yacob's decision to dissolve Singapore's 13th Parliament. The nomination day will be held on June 30.

Political rallies and demonstrations are expected in the weeks leading up to the election. Protests are also likely at polling stations on the day of the election
