Authorities ordered the evacuation of 3100 homes, affecting some 13,000 residents, in Saratoga Springs (Utah state) due to the spread of the Knolls wildfire on Sunday, June 28. Authorities issued mandatory evacuation orders for the Lake Mountain Estates and Pelican Bay areas and later expanded orders to the south of Grandview Boulevard to the west of Redwood Road. The Knoll fire broke out at 14:00 (local time) on Sunday to the west of Utah Lake following a lightning strike, and its spread has been assisted by high winds.

Further spread of the fire is possible in the coming days. An emergency response presence and localized transportation disruptions, namely road closures, should be anticipated in the affected areas.
