At least six people have died after being caught in a landslide in Kedarsiyun rural municipality (Bajhang district) on Saturday, July 4. The landslide struck Mallesi village in Ward No. 8 and some 400 people have been displaced due to the landslide and 18 homes were swept away. Rescue operations were launched on Saturday in the area, and additional support is expected to arrive on Sunday, July 5, to assist with recovery efforts.

Further disruptions to travel and infrastructure are to be anticipated in the coming days and additional landslides and adverse weather are to be expected. 


Individuals in the affected area are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate transportation disruptions, avoid landslide-prone areas, confirm road conditions before setting out, and adhere to local authorities' instructions.
