Up to 5000 people gathered to protest the loss of over 400 jobs at a Nokia site in Lannion (Côtes-d'Armor; Brittany) on Saturday, July 4. The protests seemingly remained peaceful and no clashes were reported.

Further demonstrations are possible over the near term.


On June 22, Nokia announced its restructuring plan in France which includes 1233 job cuts.
