One militant and one security force member killed in clashes during security operation in Pulwama district (Jammu and Kashmir territory) on July 7; further security operations possible in the near term

Event

A soldier and a militant were killed and another soldier and a police officer were injured as clashes broke out during a joint security operation in Pulwama district (Jammu and Kashmir territory) on Tuesday, July 7. Security forces were conducting search operations in Goosu following information received on the presence of militants. An exchange of fire broke out with the militants and security operations were ongoing in the areas as of Tuesday afternoon (local time).

Further security operations and clashes between security forces and militants across Jammu and Kashmir territory are expected over the near term.
