Heavy rainfall caused water-logging, subway closures, and disruption across Mumbai on Wednesday, July 15. The Andheri Subway and the Khar Subway have both been closed to traffic as a result of the heavy rainfall. Additionally, the Western Express Highway (WEH) also reported traffic snarls in close proximity of Samta Nagar, Andheri, Vile Parle, and Santacruz. Water-logging has also been reported across the city including in Dadar Tram Terminus (TT), Mahim Junction, and Khetwadi. Several roads have been closed as a result.
An orange alert has been issued in Mumbai by the Indian Meteorological Department for Wednesday, July 15, as heavy rainfall is expected to continue.
Flooding, landslides, and transportation and business disruptions, as well as disruptions to power and communications services, are expected in the coming days.
