Israeli police utilized water cannons to disperse anti-government protesters outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence on Balfour Street in Jerusalem on Saturday evening, July 18. Hundreds of protesters had gathered to protest against the lack of a social safety net for workers, as well as the government's handling of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, when the police deployed water cannons to disperse the crowds.

Further protests are possible in the coming days. Heightened security measures and localized traffic disruptions are expected around any demonstration site.
