Armed bandits reportedly ambushed Nigerian soldiers in the Jibia local government area of Katsina state on Saturday, July 18, killing at least 23 soldiers. According to local media reports, the soldiers were out on a foot patrol when they came under fire by the bandits. Security forces are continuing search operations to locate the assailants.
