A large-scale joint operation between Italian and Swiss police has resulted in the simultaneous arrest of over 75 suspects on Monday, July 20. According to a statement by Italy's financial police on Tuesday, July 21, 196 million euros worth of goods were also seized in the operation targeting the 'Ndrangheta Italian mafia organization. Weapons and ammunition were seized by Swiss police in raids in Argovia, Solothurn, Zug, and Ticino cantons. Over 700 police officers also participated in the simultaneous operation in Italy.

Further security operations are possible on both sides of the border over the near term.
