Wildfires near Corinth (Peloponnese) prompted evacuations in several areas near the city on Wednesday, July 22, including Kechries. Dozens of firefighters are reportedly tackling the blaze, aided by firefighting aircraft.

Separately, authorities said firefighters have also responded to a separate wildfire about 200 km (125 mi) further west towards Olympia.

Further spread of the wildfires is possible over the coming hours and days. Localized transportation disruptions are to be expected near the fires.


Those in the affected areas are advised to monitor developments, avoid the vicinity of the fires, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities, including evacuation orders.
