A demonstration named 'SONAgkaisa' has been planned in Quezon City on Monday, July 27, during the fifth State of the Nation Address by President Rodrigo Duterte at the Batasang Pambansa Complex. According to social media sources, demonstrators are expected to protest between 10:00 and 12:00 (local time) on Commonwealth Avenue. Reports also suggest that student activists will gather at Quezon Hall at the University of the Philippines Diliman from 08:30. Associated overland disruptions are to be expected in Quezon City and further demonstrations should be anticipated throughout the day. The protests are expected to be well attended, despite the current ban on gatherings amid the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
