Event

Heavy rainfall on Friday, July 24, triggered flash floods in the Rafin Sanyi region of Suleja Local Government Area (Niger State) which resulted in the deaths of at least seven people. According to a local government spokesperson, several houses collapsed in the area, trapping people in their homes. Multiple others are still missing as rescue and recovery teams have been dispatched in the area in the search for survivors. Power outages in the area have also been reported following damage to electrical infrastructure.
