At least 14 people were killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen on a village in Kogi state on Tuesday night, July 28. The incident occurred in the village of Agbudu in the Koton-Karfe area. Six people were also wounded in the attack. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and have indicated that the motive for the attack may have been a long-standing feud over land rights.

A heightened security presence is expected in the area over the near term.
