Demonstrations have been called for outside the US Embassy in Yaoundé on Monday, August 17, and Tuesday, August 18. Participants are scheduled to gather outside the embassy in the capital's Golf neighborhood at 08:30 (local time) on both days. The exact motive for the planned demonstrations is unclear, although social media sources show links to a US-based Ambazonian separatist activist.

A heightened security presence is expected in the vicinity of the US Embassy on both days and localized transportation disruptions are possible in the area.
