Opposition supporters to rally at N’Djili International Airport on August 22; avoid all gatherings as a precaution

Supporters from the Lamuka opposition coalition are planning to stage a political rally in Kinshasa on Saturday, August 22. Participants will reportedly gather at N'Djili International Airport (FIH) from 08:00 (local time) to greet former presidential candidate Martin Fayulu as well as Lamuka coordinator Adolphe Muzito on their return from the US.

A heightened security presence and traffic disruptions are likely around the rally site.


Those in Kinshasa are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all public demonstrations and gatherings due to the risk of violence and arrest, refrain from discussing political topics in public, and adhere to all instructions issued by their home government and local authorities.
