Nationwide celebrations have been scheduled throughout Malaysia to celebrate the 63rd National Day on Monday, August 31. The main ceremony will occur at Dataran Pahlawan in Putrajaya. Government offices are expected to hold additional ceremonies in state capitals. Business closures and traffic restrictions should be anticipated across the country in the near term.

A heightened security presence is to be expected nationwide ahead of and during Monday's events.
