Two civilians were killed when a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in Helmand province's Nad-e-Ali district on Sunday, August 30. The device struck a civilian vehicle near the village of Noorzo on Sunday morning. The two deceased were local shopkeepers. No group has claimed immediate responsibility for the attack.

Similar incidents are likely to continue to occur in Helmand province and across Afghanistan over the medium term due to the ongoing security situation in the country.
