Activists affiliated with the 'Come to the Street' organization have called for nationwide vehicular protests in Brazil on Sunday, September 6. The group is holding the protest in support of an ongoing anti-corruption investigation by the Federal Police of Brazil. The protests are scheduled to begin in the following cities at 10:00 (local time):
- Sao Paulo: Praca Charles Miller
- Rio de Janeiro: Avenida das Americas 1510
- Salvador: Federal Police Headquarters Building
- Brasilia: Ulisses Guimaraes Convention Center
- Belo Horizonte: Praca do Papa
Organizers have yet to announce specific routes for the protests and additional ones may be added.
Further demonstrations over the issue are possible over the near term. A heightened security presence and localized disruption to transport are expected in the vicinity of protests.
Those in Brazil are advised to avoid all public demonstrations, adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, and anticipate localized disruption near any protest sites.
