Indian security forces killed at least one militant during clashes in the Pattan area of Baramulla district (Jammu and Kashmir territory) on Friday, September 4. The security forces were fired upon whilst conducting a cordon and search operation in the area after receiving information regarding the presence of militants in Yadipora village. One army officer was reportedly injured during the clashes.
Further security operations and clashes between security forces and militants across Jammu and Kashmir territory are expected over the near term.
Individuals in Jammu and Kashmir territory are advised to monitor developments, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities and their home governments.
Some foreign governments advise their citizens against travel to parts of Kashmir, notably including areas along the Line of Control (LoC), due to the significant risk of violence.
