Activists plan to hold a demonstration in Tunis to demand the release of a prominent jailed journalist on Monday, September 7. Participants will gather outside the National Union of Tunisian Journalists from 10:00 (local time).
A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are possible in the vicinity of the protest.
On August 10, journalist Khaled Drareni was sentenced to three years in jail for his coverage of anti-government protests in 2019.
Those in Tunis are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
