Protesters gather in Warsaw on September 16; further protests possible

Protesters gathered in Warsaw on Wednesday, September 16, in opposition to a proposed law that would ban the breeding of animals for fur production. Hundreds gathered outside of the office of the ruling Law and Justice Party (PiS) and presented a petition to the party. Protesters also gathered near the parliament building.

Further demonstrations on the issue, along with disruptions to overland travel, are possible in the near term.


Individuals in Warsaw are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate transportation disruptions, and avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution.
