Several hundred recent graduates are expected to gather in central Algiers on Monday, September 21, for a demonstration calling for improved employment opportunities and government support. The higher degree graduates are scheduled to gather at the People's National Assembly at around 10:00 (local time) before marching to the presidential residence in the city's El Mouradia district.
Although the demonstration is expected to remain peaceful, a heightened security presence is likely and localized disruptions are possible within the vicinity of the march.
Those in Algiers are advised to monitor developments, avoid all demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
