Reports of IED explosions in Kabul's Police Districts 5 and 8 (PD5 and PD8) on September 21; avoid the areas

Reports on Monday morning, September 21, indicate that an improvised explosive device (IED) blast occurred near the Delawar fuel station in the Kompani area of Kabul's Police District 5 (PD5). The incident took place at around 09:35 (local time), with at least three casualties reported. A separate IED explosion was also reported around 09:15 in Kabul's PD8 near the police headquarters, where at least one casualty was reported.

Localized disruptions are possible in the abovementioned areas in the near term. Those in Kabul should be mindful of the possibility of further attacks.


Those in Kabul are advised to avoid the affected area, remain vigilant for possible militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.
