At least two rounds of indirect fire have been reported in the vicinity of the US Embassy in Baghdad's Green Zone on Tuesday, September 22. The incident reportedly occurred at 05:05 (local time) and is the latest in a series of attacks on targets linked with the presence of foreign troops in Iraq, which have been attributed to Iranian-backed Shia militias.

Further attacks targeting the Green Zone and other targets associated with the presence of foreign troops are expected to continue in the near term.
