Demonstrators are set to gather in various locations on Thursday, September 24, and Monday, September 28, to denounce controversial agricultural ordinances. Reportedly, demonstrations will take place nationwide on September 24, and participants plan to march to state governors' residences across the country. On September 28, demonstrators will gather across Tamil Nadu state at district headquarters from 10:00 (local time), and large demonstrations are to be anticipated in the state capital Chennai

A heightened security presence and associated disruptions should be anticipated at all protests.

Context

Demonstrations have been ongoing since the government introduced three agricultural ordinances in June; two of the three pieces of legislation were passed through the upper house of the Indian Parliament on Sunday, September 20.
