The Nigerian Labour Congress is planning to begin an indefinite strike from Monday, September 28, over an increase in electricity and fuel prices. The decision comes following the government's refusal to reverse the price hikes. Associated nationwide demonstrations have also been called for, to be held in urban centers on Monday. Additional organizations and political parties are reportedly expected to participate in the demonstrations. Exact locations for Monday's protests have not been announced.
