Mexico City police have been deployed to clear protesters from the Angel of Independence on the Paseo de la Reforma Avenue as of 16:00 on Saturday, September 26. The protesters have reportedly gathered to demand justice on the sixth anniversary of the mass kidnapping of 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers' College in Iguala, Guerrero state. Local imagery shows the blockage of the Paseo de la Reforma as attempts by police to clear the crowd continues. 

A heightened security presence and localized disruptions to transport are to be expected in the vicinity of the demonstrations. Clashes between security forces and protesters are possible.
