A spokesperson for the National Committee for Disaster Management reported on Sunday, October 11, that 11 people have died in flood-related incidents following heavy rain since October 1. More than 14,000 people across nine provinces have been affected by the floods. Over 700 people have been evacuated to higher ground and thousands of hectares of crops destroyed. Pursat, Battambang, and Pailin provinces have been among the worst affected, with floods also reaching the capital Phnom Penh.

Further rain, wind, and high waves are forecast in the coming days, particularly across central areas, which could lead to further flooding and associated disruptions.

Those in affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate transportation disruptions, avoid areas directly affected by flooding, confirm road conditions before setting out, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, including evacuation orders. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters.
