Unidentified gunmen killed six people and injured 20 others in two attacks on a village in Kaduna state on Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10. The attacks occurred in the village of Kidandan in Giwa Local Government Area. At around 11:00 (local time) on Friday, the gunmen entered the village and began shooting randomly at residents, before returning again on Saturday afternoon. An air force aircraft carrying security forces arrived in the area on Saturday and attacked the assailants' camp near the village.
Further security operations are expected in the area over the near term and further attacks are possible over the near term.
