Demonstrations denouncing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) measures were held in the capital Bucharest on Saturday, October 10. Reports indicate that the demonstrations took place in the capital's Victory Square. Participants were reportedly protesting a recent decision by local authorities to order the closure of restaurants and cafes due to COVID-19.

A similar rally was held in Bucharest on Wednesday, October 7. Both Wednesday's and Saturday's rallies passed off peacefully.

A heightened security presence and localized travel disruptions should be anticipated in the vicinity of any future protests.
