The Thai Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains may produce flooding across the Northeast, Central Plains, and South regions of the country until Tuesday, October 13, as Tropical Storm Linfa moves inland following its landfall in Vietnam on Sunday, October 11. Authorities have warned that flooding is possible in the regions of Amnat Charoen, Buri Ram, Mukdahan, Nakhon Ratchasima, Roi Et, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Ubon Ratchathani, and Yasothon.
Landslides and disruptions to business and transport are possible in the near term.
Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, anticipate continuing disruptions, and never drive or walk through flooded streets. Floodwater may also contain wastewater and chemical products and present residual health hazards.
