The unrest reportedly broke out following the arrest of the influential figure Abdulrahman Al-Milad by the Ministry of Interior. The arrest initially led to the closure of the Coastal Road to Zawiya at Checkpoint 27 with reports of armed vehicles gathering in the vicinity. The unrest later spread to the Ghut Al-Shaal Roundabout area in Sarraj, with reports of gunfire and armed vehicles. The situation has the potential to escalate quickly.
