The Bauchi State Commissioner of Police announced that movement resections will be in place across the state during the local government elections on Saturday, October 17. Restrictions will begin from midnight (local time) on Friday, October 16 and last until 14:00 on Saturday. It includes a ban on vehicular movement. Those carrying out essential duties will be exempt from the restrictions, although they must carry valid identification cards on their person. Police and other security personnel will be deployed at every polling station to deter those who may cause violence on election day.

A heightened security presence is expected across the state during the election.


Those in Bauchi state are advised to monitor the situation, comply with all restrictions imposed, and adhere to all other instructions issued by local authorities.
