Street vendors gathered to demonstrate in Comayaguela (Central District) on Friday, October 16, to denounce restrictive coronavirus disease (COVID-19) measures prohibiting them from operating. Demonstrators reportedly gathered in the Zonal Belen market area and used burning tires to block traffic in both directions on Bulevard Norte. No clashes were reported amid the demonstration.

A heightened security presence is to be anticipated in the vicinity of any protest site, along with disruptions to overland travel.
