A suspected militant was killed during an encounter with security forces as they carried out an operation in Anantnag district (Jammu and Kashmir territory) on Saturday, October 17. The incident occurred in the Larnoo area as security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation following information regarding the whereabouts of militants. The patrol was reportedly fired upon by militants and a gunfight ensued. At least one weapon was recovered in the operation.
