On Monday, October 26, the US Embassy in Islamabad re-issued an advisory warning of a possible terrorist threat to US and foreign nationals in Pakistan. The embassy advises citizens to avoid large gatherings throughout Pakistan. The advisory also states that due to security and health concerns, restrictions for US mission personnel remain in place, including limits on attending large gatherings and visits to Pakistani government facilities, shopping malls, and other public places. The US Embassy in Islamabad and Consulates General in Karachi and Lahore will continue to provide limited US citizen and visa services.

A heightened security presence is likely at US and western-linked sites over the near term. 


Those in Pakistan are advised to monitor the situation, exercise a heightened sense of awareness at all times, and report any suspicious items or activity to authorities.
