Three injured in stabbing at pro-Armenia protest in Fresno on October 28; disruptions likely

A man reportedly stabbed three people at an Armenian solidarity protest in Fresno on Wednesday, October 28. The attack took place near the River Park shopping center, at the southwest corner of Blackstone and Nees avenues. A police spokesperson stated that the man became angry at the protesters for blocking traffic, during which he began pulling down their signs and attacking participants with a knife. None of the injuries were reportedly life-threatening. The man escaped the scene and police are carrying out a search for the suspect.

A heightened security presence is likely in the vicinity of the incident over the near term, with associated disruptions to transportation to be expected.  


Those in the Fresno area should monitor developments, anticipate travel disruptions, and heed any directives issued by local authorities. Any suspicious activity should be immediately reported to police.
