Multiple people were arrested in Ibadan (Oyo state) on Thursday, October 29, following clashes between the Agbekoya farmers' group and Nigerian army soldiers. The incident began after the group reportedly attempted to interrupt a meeting of government officials at a local secretariat. The soldiers were deployed after the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, who guard the secretariat, were overpowered. Minor injuries were reported during the unrest.  

Further unrest in Ibadan is possible over the near term. A heightened security presence and associated transport and business disruptions are to be expected.
