Gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on security forces in the Dabka junction area of Mogadishu on Sunday, November 1. The security forces returned fire and there are unconfirmed reports of casualties in the gunfight. The gunmen were believed to be Al-Shabaab militants and initial reports indicate that the clashes resulted in the death of two undercover security agents, who were guarding a surveillance camera, and one militant. Others were also reportedly wounded in the encounter.

Security operations are likely in the vicinity of the incident over the immediate term. Further attacks by militants are likely in Mogadishu and across Somalia over the medium term.
