Bridge collapse kills seven and injures five others in Tianjin Municipality on November 1; residual disruptions likely in the near term

At least seven people were killed and five others injured when a bridge collapsed in Tianjin Municipality on Sunday, November 1. The collapse occurred at around 09:00 (local time) in Tianjin's Binhai New Area. The deceased are reported to have been workers who were carrying out repair works on the bridge.

Rescue operations have reportedly been concluded; however, residual disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the incident over the near term.


Those in Tianjin are advised to monitor the situation, avoid the vicinity of the incident in the immediate term, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
