Fishermen in Santa Fe Province planned to hold a protest on Monday, November 2, to demand economic assistance amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The fishermen planned to gather at the Fuente de la Cordialidad monument in the provincial capital Santa Fe at 08:00 (local time). Participants have also threatened to block roads in the area and associated demonstrations are likely in Rosario and other towns and cities across the province.
A heightened police presence is expected in the vicinity of any demonstrations and disruptions to overland transport are likely, particularly along Route 168 at the Fuente de Cordialidad and along Route 1 from Santa Fe to the north of the province.
Those in Santa Fe province are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate disruptions to transport, avoid the vicinity of the demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
